Hagit Kirshner-Shalom (M.A., RPT-S™) is a Theraplay® practitioner and supervisor-in-training, Accredited Play Therapist and Supervisor, and an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner. Hagit obtained a Master’s in Cognitive Psychology.
Hagit has over a decade of experience working in the mental health and trauma field in Australia and Singapore, supporting children, families, and adults presenting with:
• Attachment challenges and parent-child relationship difficulties
• Emotional and behavioural regulation issues
• Anxiety, depression, and emotional distress
• Trauma, grief, and loss
• ADHD and Autism Spectrum presentations
• Parenting challenges and support needs
Hagit’s therapeutic approaches centre on Theraplay®, a playful, attachment-based, experiential therapy designed to strengthen parent-child relationships, promote emotional regulation, and enhance resilience. She offers individual Theraplay® sessions, as well as integrating Theraplay® with Play Therapy and EMDR to tailor interventions to each client’s developmental needs, neurodiversity and personal background.
Deeply rooted in attachment, neurodiversity-affirming and trauma frameworks, Hagit specialises in working with families to enhance emotional connection, rebuild trust, and support children's social and emotional growth. She is passionate about using Theraplay® to address developmental delays, the emotional impact of trauma, and behavioural challenges in children.
In addition to her clinical practice, Hagit provides clinical supervision and professional training to other mental health professionals, focusing on play-based, trauma-informed approaches and Theraplay® interventions.
Outside of her professional work, Hagit enjoys spending time with her family, camping and hiking for personal wellbeing.
